What the AI does — and, just as importantly, what it doesn't.
CaseCheck is AI-assisted. The AI's role is well-defined and bounded. Every material decision remains with the adviser and the firm's compliance function.
What the AI does
- Extracts structured information from uploaded documents (names, dates, income figures, addresses, etc.).
- Classifies the type of document being reviewed.
- Compares extracted facts across documents and against the case record.
- Identifies inconsistencies, gaps and things that look unusual for the case type.
- Surfaces findings with the source document, page and rule version behind each one.
What the AI does not do
- It does not provide regulated mortgage advice.
- It does not approve suitability or make a lending decision.
- It does not submit cases automatically to compliance or a lender.
- It does not replace human review of findings, evidence or the recommendation.
- It does not use customer documents to train third-party models.
Human-in-the-loop by design
A finding from CaseCheck is a prompt for review, not an outcome. The adviser reviews each item, adds context or supporting evidence, and — where the firm uses one — the compliance reviewer confirms before the file moves on. Responsibility for the recommendation and the final compliance decision remains with the authorised firm and relevant individuals.
Model governance
The AI models and prompts CaseCheck uses are versioned. Every finding records the rule and prompt version that produced it, so a case can be re-examined against the exact logic that was in effect at the time of review. Material changes to models or prompts follow a documented change and validation procedure before they reach production use.
